The magic of your imagination

(L'Ametlla de Mar – Rasquera – Pinell de Brai – Miravet – Benissanet – Tivissa)

This route starts in l'Ametlla de Mar, a fishing town where the food is excellent, and goes to the Colladetes and Calobres wind farms. From there you will cross the Boix-Cardo mountains to Pinell de Brai, where you will visit the Catalonian “Cathedrals del vi” (wine cathedrals). This spectacular wine cellar was built by Cèsar Martinell (one of Gaudi's pupils). You will then continue your journey to Mirabet, where there is a magnificent Knight Templar castle. After visiting Mirabet, you will continue your journey to Benissanet to have lunch. In the afternoon you will cross the Llaveria mountains via some of the old smuggling routes to visit some ghost towns such as Fatxes and Gavadà and the walled town of Tivissa. While you are on this route, look out for the mysterious “Dips”, dark coloured vampire dogs that were said to inhabit these mountains. End of the excursion.
