AMETLLA DE MAR TOURISM REACHES 100,000 FOLLOWERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The Ametlla de Mar Tourism brand is celebrating as it has reached 100,000 followers in its virtual community across the four social media platforms it manages: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. Furthermore, it has established itself as the second most-followed Catalan destination for tourism in Catalonia on Instagram.
As of now, the brand boasts a total of 100,322 followers, including 58,050 on Facebook, 29,347 on Instagram, 9,276 on Twitter, and 3,649 on Pinterest. The most popular platforms, Facebook and Instagram, are where Ametlla de Mar Tourism focuses its efforts the most, with daily posts throughout the year and strong engagement with users.
In addition to daily posts, photo contests are organized to encourage follower participation. The Tourism Councilor, Maite Boquera, emphasizes that reaching 100,000 followers is the result of years of hard work.
Since 2009, the year the Facebook profile @turismeametllademar was launched, the virtual community has not stopped growing, and social media has become a key element in promoting tourism in the area.
Currently, Ametlla de Mar is a benchmark in the Terres de l’Ebre and Camp de Tarragona regions for managing profiles on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. Specifically, its Instagram profile ranks second among Catalan destinations, according to a list compiled by the Association of Tourism Professionals of Local Administration in Catalonia.
