The year is coming to an end, and as usual, it is time to take stock. We close the second tourist season still immersed in the pandemic caused by COVID-19. The crisis caused by this situation has affected nearly all sectors of the economy, and the tourism sector has been one of the hardest hit (tourism involves mobility, and mobility leads to contagion). These have likely been the two most atypical seasons since tourism became a key sector in our municipality. From the Tourism Department, and as we explained in the previous 2020 report, we began working to adapt all actions to the situation we were facing at each moment: restructuring budgets, promotions, scheduled activities, and, above all, supporting the private sector by informing them of the regulations that were being issued regarding safety and health, as well as the assistance programs published throughout the year by different administrations.
